Whangarei accommodation, your way
Self-contained cabins, motel units and apartments, plus powered and tent sites. Central Whangarei, family-run and affordable.
A holiday park in the middle of Whangarei
Whangarei Central is a family-run holiday park ten minutes' walk from town. Whether you're driving a campervan up State Highway 1, pitching a tent for the weekend, or after a warm cabin with a proper bed, there's a spot here that fits, and it won't cost the earth.
We provide clean, affordable accommodation close to everything: the shops at Tarewa Park five minutes away, the hospital a short drive, and the town basin and its restaurants an easy walk. The park facilities include a kitchen, two laundries, BBQ area and Wi-Fi, so a tent site and a cabin both come with the same facilities.

Common questions
- What kinds of accommodation do you have?
- We're a holiday park, so there's a range. Self-contained options include stand-alone cabins, motel units, a family room, a twin-single and two apartments. Outside, we have powered sites for campervans, motorhomes and caravans, and unpowered tent sites under the willows. Every option uses the same park facilities: kitchen, laundries, bathrooms and Wi-Fi.
- How much does it cost to stay in Whangarei?
- Tent and unpowered sites start at $19 per adult a night and powered sites at $22. Cabins and the twin-single start at $115 a night, the motel unit at $138, the family room at $145, and the apartments at $169. Booking direct is the cheapest way to stay, with no booking-site commission.
- Where is the holiday park?
- We're at 34 Tarewa Road, one turn off State Highway 1. It's about a 10-minute walk into central Whangarei, five minutes to Tarewa Park shopping, and a five-minute drive to Whangarei Hospital.
- Is it easy to get a campervan in?
- Yes. There's a wide entrance straight off the highway, room to manoeuvre, and a dump station on-site. Powered sites suit everything from a small van to a large motorhome.
- Do you take long stays?
- We do. Contractors and people relocating stay with us by the week or month (see our contractor rates), and groups and sports teams can book in bulk.
